OregonASK is now accepting nominations for the 2nd annual Afterschool Hall of Fame Awards!
Know someone who is dedicated to supporting afterschool in Oregon? Know someone that cares about quality afterschool programs? The Afterschool Hall of Fame Award Ceremony was organized to recognize those individuals and organizations that have provided dedicated leadership to the advancement of the field of afterschool in Oregon.

Afterschool Hall of Fame Award recipients will be recognized at the Bridge Conference on October 19, 2010. There is no question that the current and proposed budget cuts to afterschool programs will have a dramatic effect on thousands of children and families across the state. Afterschool leaders are scrambling. Some programs are forced to switch to a fee-based model, while others will close their doors entirely. OregonASK needs to hear from you. Registration is limited to 20 participants Engaging English Language Learners in Afterschool
How many different languages do you hear in a day? Chances are at least two! As our communities become more diverse, a rich variety of languages become more and more a part of our daily lives. In this workshop we will explore the foundations of language development and discover strategies for supporting English language development for non-native speakers. We will study how to create a learning environment full of activities and projects that meet each learner’s needs.
