Afterschool Supper

The Oregon Hunger Relief Task Force was created by the State Legislature in 1989 (ORS 458.532) to collaborate with state agencies, businesses, non-profits, public officials and local communities to end hunger in Oregon. Working with partners throughout Oregon, the Task Force promotes community awareness, compiles research, develops proposals for government action and conducts outreach to expand participation in Federal Nutrition Programs.

The Task Force’s mission is guided by the Act to End Hunger , a plan created in 2004 to provide a framework to help address the root causes of hunger. The Task Force's mission is supported by staff at Partners For a Hunger-Free Oregon, a private nonprofit organization created specifically to aid and complement the work of the Task Force.

The Oregon Hunger Relief Task Force is working closely with OregonASK to help expand federal nutrition programs to out of school activities. Federal programs like the After School Meal and Snack program and the Summer Food Service program are valuable assets for feeding children in Oregon and helping out of school programs become more sustainable.
