"If I Were Mayor..." Contest!

This year the annual "If I Were Mayor..." contest is focusing on afterschool! The Oregon Mayors Association, your City and Oregon Afterschool for Kids invite your kids to enter this fun contest!

1st Step:

Local Contest - Contact your city and local mayor to get information about submitting entries to your city's contest! Submit your ideas about what you would do if you were mayor. This year's theme is more specifically focused: What do you think afterschool should be like in your town?"

Submissions will be accepted in these three categories:
Poster (Grades 4-6)
Essay/Video (Middle School)
Video (High School)

Local contests are beginning now and run through April 20, 2012.

2nd Step:

Your mayor and city council will pick a winner in each category and send those submissions to the Statewide Contest by May 4, 2012.

3rd Step:

Statewide Contest - Overall winners will be chosen in each of the three categories and invited, along with their parents, to an Oregon Mayor Assocation Annual Conference Luncheon in Florence, Oregon on Saturday, July 28, 2012, to be recognized and receive their prizes!

The statewide winners will be notified, along with their mayor in mid-June.
